@michaelgregerMD is a nutrition fact powerhouse. I’ve been following his work and recommending his site (nutritionfacts.org) to my patients for years.
Unlike so many people who write about #nutrition, he is quick to acknowledge LIMITATIONS of research when he makes a claim (I.e this was only proven in rats) and ALWAYS meticulously cites his sources ๐
I also LOVE that he devotes an entire section to building & maintaining #habits, since many science-heavy books on nutrition seem to leave out behavior/psychology.
Some pearls I gleaned from this book include
๐why “calories in, calories out” is flawed
๐the science of thylakoids and how they can reduce sugar cravings (which I never learned in med school OR nutrition school, how is that possible?!)
๐the benefits of ginger for #weightloss
๐the benefits of hibiscus tea for #hypertension
๐evidence-based dietary changes for #inflammation
There are honestly hundreds more of these. Impossible to summarize in one post, so I hope you’ll take the time to get your own copy and read the sections that are relevant to you!
Or of course, join Juniper and let me incorporate them into my personalized recommendations for your health ๐
